My very first Canadian picture book. It was suggested that I might illustrate this book when I first visited Tundra Books in Toronto. We were just beginning the immigration process, and it was a sort of fact-finding tour. I therefore took scores of photos of the area around Kensington Market in Toronto, where the book is set, which was very far sighted of me. Unfortunately (thinking the pictures had been transferred to the laptop) I formatted the card soon after we left Toronto and lost the lot. Hey ho!
