I loved working on this book. Jan Mark was an extraordinary writer, and Walker Books is an extraordinary publisher. Having decided that what this book wasn't was another 'Children's Illustrated Bible Stories', I was given my head and allowed to splodge about, attempting to make images as strong as the rock solid text. Not all the results were successful, but Walker's editor was patient and supportive, and the the result is a powerful little book.
